Translating the Fire user interface into another language
Probably one of the most valuable services that our volunteers provide is translating the Fire user interface into other languages. (This process is called Localization.) We develop the interface in English as the first language, but do the work necessary to have everything work in any language that our volunteers chose to translate.
If you are fluent in english and another language, we need your help! This page should give you all the information you need get started.
The Fire-Localization Mailing List
We ask that all translators join the fire-localization (Subscribe/Unsubscribe) mailing list. This is where you can get your questions answered about localizing fire. This is also the place to let others know about which languages you are planning on working on.

The Apple Localization Tools
Apple has a free set of localization tools called AppleGlot which are available to aid you with the translation process. We recommend that all of our translators use AppleGlot version 3.1, which can be downloaded from apple here .
Submitting your translation
On the sourceforge project page for fire there are a number of resources used by the development team to manage the development process. You should upload your translated resources to the Localization Tracker.
Your translation will be reviewed by the core fire development team, and if it is ready to go, it will be added to the CVS tree for inclusion in the next build. Please remember that we are all volunteers on this project, so it can sometimes take a while before your translation is reviewed. Please be patient.
